Knife made from an old file. Turning scrap metal that’s reached the end of its life into an object that requires a ritual of maintenance and care and “grows with you”; therefore making it something that will actually increase in sentimental value over time. Serves to reframe our relationship with and commitments to some of our most ubiquitous objects and possessions.

Design that Lasts
Carbon Steel, Epoxy, Walnut, Beech, Cherry, Maple
Designed in junction to a collaborative analysis and project with Liz McDonough, Patricia Yu, and Ian Lippincott. We designed a service in which old files and saw blades are collected from local woodshops and repurposed into bespoke knives.
